Roots and Shoots Farm is in high gear with their 2012 growing season. They are located south of Ottawa near Manotick Station. This year they are farming 8 acres and now have 4 greenhouses. They are certified organic. As well as being active at local farmers' markets, their CSA shares are already into their delivery cycles around the city.
This is our 3rd season participating with Roots and Shoots Farm's CSA program. Yesterday we picked up our first basket of this year. Perfect timing, as portions of the broccoli, summer squash and green onions became part of our dinner.
Here is the produce included in our basket. If you are tempted, stop by the Ottawa Farmers' Market at Brewer Park on Sunday and stock up.
